About the Experience

The 7th Hole is one of a chain of caves cut into the Selma Plateau, part of a system that runs beneath it. On this trip you go down into it on rope, 120 meters in all, and explore the chamber below. You do not need to have done this before. We camp on the plateau and spend the whole second day training with ropes, harnesses, and ascenders until the moves are second nature. The descent comes on day three. The plateau sits far from any town, and we run this trip on a moonless weekend, so the sky over camp is as dark as it gets.

What to Bring

Hiking boots with ankle support, thick socks, warm layers for cold nights on the plateau, a day pack, two headlamps with spare batteries, a 2 liter water bottle, gloves, sunscreen, and any personal medication. Bring your own sleeping bag and mat, or rent both from us for OMR 15.
