About the Experience

Two peaks. One sunset. The kind of weekend that makes ordinary weekends feel insufficient. Tanomah sits high enough to remind you how small you are, and how good that can feel. This trip crosses two of its peaks in a single day, then closes with a gravity cart and a long lunch. Accommodation is your way: a tent or a hostel room at Tanomah Basecamp by HUSAAK. All meals, expert guides, and ground transportation are included. Mixed gender. Airfare and personal gear are not included.

What to Bring

Daypack (20 L), ankle-support hiking boots (a size up for comfort), thick hiking socks, quick-dry shirts, a lightweight jacket and windbreaker, a down jacket for cool evenings, a rain jacket, hat and sunscreen, bug spray, sandals or camp shoes, a headlamp with batteries, a metal water bottle, a power bank and chargers, wet wipes, and any personal medication. Nights can fall to around 18°C in summer and colder in winter, so pack layers.

Itinerary

Day 1. Welcome to the highlands. Airport to HUSAAK Center in Tanomah. Check in, tent or hostel, your choice. A full briefing on the two routes and what they ask of you. Campfire and dinner. Sleep with the altitude. Day 2. Two summits, one sunset. Mana Mountain first, with views that stretch further than expected. Lunch at Sharaf Park between peaks. Sharaf Mountain to reach the top in time for sunset. Stay with it as long as it lasts. Day 3. A light close. A gravity cart at Tabab Lodge, a fast and laughing end. Lunch and a quiet review of the weekend. Tanomah named itself for rest. You'll leave with something else.
