About the Experience
We leave Muscat on Thursday afternoon and drive into the sand, reaching the dunes as the light goes gold. The first night is spent in a desert camp with a BBQ by the fire. On Friday we head for Wadi Hawer, a canyon of smooth rock and deep green pools, for a day of walking and swimming. The second camp is on the Selma Plateau or by the sea, depending on the weather. On Saturday morning we stop at Bimmah Sinkhole, a pool of turquoise water inside a limestone hollow, before the drive home.
What to Bring
Hiking boots with ankle support, trainers or water shoes, swimwear and quick-dry clothes, a warm layer for the nights, a day pack, a headlamp, a 2 liter water bottle, a towel, sunscreen, a hat, and any personal medication. Bring your own sleeping bag and mat, or rent both from us for OMR 15.
