Hike across the stunning Western Hajar Mountain range to experience striking views. From the Green Mountain to Jebal Shams, ending with a 9 km each way summit hike.

THE ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive in Muscat and check into your local hotel for a relaxing night after your international flight.  

Day 2: Early breakfast, check out and depart Muscat by 7 am. The group will drive 2 hours to the starting point at Jebel Akdhar to set off on the 15-16 km Wadi Al Moidain hike. The route passes through the canyon, climbing up the mountain. Arrive at the end point at approx. 4 pm where the car will meet you with the camping gear. Transfer to camp and tuck into a grill dinner and sleep.

Day 3: Breakfast, pack up camp and transfer to Aross You will need to start hiking by 7 am. This hike will take you across the western Hajar to Misfit Al Abrien. A total distance of 28km. The vehicle again will meet you with the camping gear, prepare dinner and sleep.

Note: If the distance is too much for the group, we will transfer to Sherfat Al Amain (1.5 hours drive) From Sherfat Al Amain to Misfat Al Brien is 13 km. 

Day 4:
Breakfast, pack up camp and transfer to Al Hamra and Wadi Gul. The 6 km hike will take you from 700m to 2000m, and the plateau at Jebal Shams. The village of AlKatim is the end point and this is steep 6km uphill. The group will drive 15 minutes to SAMA Heights Resort and check in for the evening.

Day 5: The final hike, a 9 km each way trek to reach the Summit of Jebal Shams, the highest peak in the Gulf. Experience striking views of the Western Hajar and wadi ghul below. After the trek you will depart for Muscat, check into your hotel by 9 pm.

Day 6: Begin with a city tour of Muscat, exploring popular landmarks such as Sultan Qaboos Mosque, Oman’s iconic Opera House and Mutrah corniche and souk. Mutrah is Oman’s economic hub and traditional Arabic market bustling with vendors. Al Dhalam, the Souq with the nearby harbor is one of the oldest marketplaces in the Arab World, strategically located on the way to China and India.You can enjoy views of the corniche and take a short walk around to get a feel of this more traditional part of the city. The group will have a farewell lunch in a local café before returning to the resort to enjoy an afternoon of relaxation.

Day 7: Airport drop-off for your departure.
