Tahery Cave - Oman
Tahery Cave is located on the Salmah Plateau within the Eastern Hajar Mountains, roughly 2 hours from Muscat. The Hajar Mountain range is the result of a collision between the Arabian and Persian Plates. During this process, the Easter Hajar Mountains were uplifted at rapid speed from under the sea to nearly 5000 feet above sea level. The uplift and erosion of the rocks resulted in the formation of one of the region’s largest caving systems.
The mountains are the Husaak’s teams backyard where we share the hidden jewels of Arabia with our adventurers.
A 5km hike is required to reach Tahery Cave. Explore this impressive caving system with one of Husaaks highly trained guides. Recommended for ages 12+ with moderate fitness levels.

Tahery Cave WEEKEND TRIp
This trip begins on Thursday evening where we will make our way to Camp 1 near one of the local villages in Salmah mountain. Here, we will set up camp for the night and then enjoy a hot dinner as we sit around a camp fire and exchange stories of life and adventure.
The next day is an early start, where everyone will wake up and have breakfast before sunrise. Shortly after, we will begin the hike making our way up and down various steep hills. Although the climb seems never-ending, once you reach the Plateau the fun part begins and lasts around 2-3 hours more until we reach the majestic Tahery cave. The team sets up camp at the cave entrance and after resting for an hour, we go deep inside the cave until we reach the last wall. While for many, the adventure may end here and it will be time to rest, those wishing to explore deeper can venture into the wall by climbing and going deeper into the cave. The “beyond the wall” option is only available for people with prior caving experience.
After enjoy some juicy steaks back at camp 2, the team will sleep in the cave in what is truly an experience of a lifetime. Saturday will be another early start as the team prepares to head back to the cars before driving back to Muscat.
