THE ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive in Riyadh and check into your local hotel for a relaxing night after your international flight.  

Day 2: After breakfast, you will enjoy a city tour of Riyadh. The capital of culture, visit Al-Masmak Fortress district and Souq Al Zal before sampling your first taste of local cusine with lunch at Najd village. After lunch it’s time to drive 4 hours, 400 km north of Riyadh to the Capital of Al-Qassim, Burayah where you will check into a local hotel for the evening.

Day 3: After breakfast, set off to explore the jewels of Hail from Antarah Ibn Shaddad Rock, named after the famous 6th-century poet and warrior Antara bin Shaddad Al-Absi, who used to meet his love Abla in its shade and A’arif Fort. Other stops include Jubbah Rock Art, one of the Kingdom's premier open-air art galleries. Covering an area measuring 39 sq km are some of the most impressive petroglyphs (rock carvings), the oldest datingThe fines back to around 5500 BC.  Visiting all sites will be a total distance of 495 km and approximately 5.5 hours’ drive time. This evening the group will stay within a local guesthouse.

Day 4: The next stop is AlUla, one of the oldest cities in the Arabian Peninsula. A land rich in historical, geological and geographical significance, this ancient city, once at the crossroads of The Silk Road and The Incense Route, has only recently been re-discovered by the world. Expect luxury hotels, striking scenery, 2000 year old tombs and pictographs plus lots of unique outdoor experiences and world-class events. To reach AlUla requires a 445 km drive west and upon arrival the group will check into their accommodations before driving to AlUla Old town, explore the artisan boutiques and pick up a souvenir before enjoying dinner within a local restaurant.

Day 5: There is an array of activities to enjoy in AlUla. We recommend starting the day with a tour of World UNESCO Heritage site Hegra and then a 4x4 sightseeing tour within then Sharaan Nature reserve to get a closer look at the stroking rock formations. This evening the group will venture to the remote area of Gharameel for a memorable stargazing experience. This day is fully customized, for those more adventurous we can incorporate hiking or a thrilling gravity carts experience.

Day 6: Choose from an array of excursions, from leisurely hikes, mountain biking or cultural workshops including clay engraving. The group will depart AlUla at 3 pm and set off on a 245 km drive west to reach the coastal town of Al Wadj, one of the bigger cities situated in the Tabuk province on the red sea which offers stretches of pristine white sand beaches. Check into a local hotel or luxury chalet, depending on the groups preference.  

Day 7: Today the group will enjoy a boat trip with a local operator, snorkel and experience the rich marine life. Dinner tonight will be locally caught seafood.

Day 9: Take an early morning stroll around Al Balad before departing Al Wadj. Once a thriving fishing community, this abandoned town is one of the most atmospheric examples an ancient fishing village. Hit the road by 10 am to reach the seaside town of Umluj, 169 km north where you can relax by the beach and grab lunch in a local café. From here you continue your journey 434 km South to Medina to stay in a local hotel.

Day 10: Have breakfast, check out and then enjoy sightseeing in Medinah. Visit Dar Al Madinah museum and learn more about the provinces history before catching your flight back to Riyadh. Check into a local hotel this evening and enjoy a final meal together.

Day 11: Airport drop-off for your departure.
