The Ultimate Wild- Camping Packing List

Whether you’re a seasoned camper or it’s your first time sleeping under the stars, if you love the outdoors, chances are you will enjoy camping too. However, it is important to keep a few essentials to get you through the night comfortably, and making a list always helps, since once you’ve hit the road and travelled a good few kilometers, backtracking isn’t fun.

Before you get packing, perhaps you should ask yourself four questions, in order to determine what should be included In your list

Are you going to a campground or a primitive campsite?

This will help you determine whether or not there will be picnic tables, BBQ facilities, bathrooms, water, and electricity. You’ll obviously need to pack a bit differently for wild camping.

Where is your campsite and what’s the weather like?

Obviously, your packing list for camping at a beach in warm weather will be vastly different from that if you’re camping in the mountains where the temperature drops significantly. Pack accordingly!

What activities would you like to do?

What do you like to do when you’re in the outdoors? If you’re someone who enjoys swimming, remember to keep swimming gear, but if you are into fishing then you’ll have to keep appropriate equipment. The same goes for whether you like to listen to music, read or play games etc.

How luxurious do you want your camp to be?

Think of your campsite as a blank canvas . You get to choose how basic or luxurious you want to make it. While some people enjoy having multiple gadgets, and things of comfort at their campsite, others choose to keep it minimalist and simple. You do you!

However, regardless of all of the above, there is always a list of standard items you will need on most camping trips.
